Scottish Day Conference 2019

Scottish Day Conference 2019

Clinical practice is tough because humanity is broken. Life is challenging because humanity is broken. But God has also made human beings in his image. Being human therefore has implications for our practise. This day conference in Edinburgh aims to use the Bible to frame and apply those implications to our everyday lives. The culture surrounding us can often feel dehumanising for both staff and patients; join us to consider the God-given humanity we share with patients, colleagues and Jesus himself - and what that means for our daily interactions. After the day conference there will be an opportunity to have a meal out together to foster the CMF community.

Who is this conference for?
We welcome members of the medical and allied professions to the conference; you don’t need to be a member of CMF to attend. This year we are extending the invitation to those in the North of England; please join us! Non-medical family members are welcome. There will be no specific children's programme or childcare facilities, but children are welcome for the day. We will have an audio-relay room for parents to be with children if required.

Euan Dodds was brought up near Stirling and came to faith at medical school. He took posts in Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow before studying at Cornhill Scotland and Highland Theological College. He now serves as associate minister at Holyrood Evangelical Church, Edinburgh. He is married to Helen and they have 3 daughters.
Mark Pickering is Chief Executive of CMF and has several years’ experience as a prison GP in Yorkshire. Rachael Pickering is Medical Director of Integritas Healthcare, a Christian NGO specialising in offender healthcare. She regularly leads prison healthcare teams in the Philippines.
