Treasures in Jars of Clay
Moral Injury and Trauma in Healthcare
This one-day multidisciplinary gathering at the CMF main office, Johnson House, Central London, will seek to give you an opportunity to work out what it looks like to live a life rooted in God in healthcare. The last few years have been exceptionally difficult for all those in the caring professions, and we have learned something about what post-traumatic stress and moral injury are about. But how, as Christians, do we process all that we have experienced?
The programme will provide a fusion of biblical teaching, reflection, group discussion, self-examination, and creative worship. During the course of the day, we will seek to learn to fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. We hope to explore new and old ways of being with God. We also particularly want to look at the effects of Moral Injury and trauma on believers.
The day will be led by Rev. Dr. Rhona Knight and members of CMF’s Pastoral Care and Wellbeing team. It will be particularly helpful for nurses and doctors who have been, or still are, on the ‘frontline’ and feel the need to process their experiences within a biblical framework shared with other Christian believers. Places are limited to ensure the day affords appropriate space for all attendees to get the most benefit from the program.
