NAMfest 2024
Following the success of last year's event, we’d love you to
join us again for NAMfest 2024. This year, we will be celebrating ten years of
the nurses and midwives fellowship at CMF. As always, our celebration will
include worship, fellowship, and food. But, instead of hearing from just one
speaker, there will be a chance to hear stories from a range of Christians
working in the nursing and midwifery professions. Let's rejoice in the past,
thanking God for all he has done over the last decade, as well as praying for
the present, and looking forward to the future.
2024 is a double celebration year, as we will also be giving
thanks to God for the 75th anniversary of CMF. So please join us and, if you
can, stay on for the CMF National Conference from 19-21 April.
Cost for NAMfest and Ciah:
£70 for full NAMfest (£50 for students)
£35 for Friday day only includes lunch
Programme timings:
Registration and access to rooms from 15:30 on Thursday 18 April, with the first session starting at 17:00.
For day delegates, we start at 9:15 on Friday 19 April.
NAMfest finishes at 17:00 on Friday 19 April.
Workshop choices:
Please choose your top three preferences of workshops and we
will accommodate for two in the afternoon of Friday 19th April.
1. Encourager Communities
We look forward to welcoming you to the ‘Encourager
Community’ workshop, where together we will:
DISCOVER more of God’s heart of encouragement for the people
around us,
CONSIDER why encouragement is so important today’s world,
DEVELOP skills to become better at both giving and receiving
encouragement.
The workshop will last an hour, be interactive, and include
discussion on:
- Jesus’s example as an encourager
- Why and how we can be intentional encouragers
- Developing encourager skills to add to your personal and
professional toolkit.
Come along, enjoy stimulating discussion, and share ideas to
build our encourager communities.
Lead by Jane Colling, who is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner
working in a Rapid Response/Virtual Ward team in North Lancashire. She is a CMF
Peer Support Coordinator, an active member of CMF Morecambe Bay, and has a
passion for developing cultures of kindness, hope, and encouragement amongst
colleagues, patients, and the wider community, hence her involvement with
developing ‘encouraging communities’.
2. How to flourish at work with whole life faith
We aim in this workshop to look at and better understand the
workplace challenges we face as Christians. We will look at everyday, real-life
examples of the issues that confront us. We will read the Bible with health
workers’ eyes, using a tool called ‘The 6M's’, role play, and shared questions.
This is a practical workshop, and we hope that we will all
be better able to flourish at work by learning with and from each other.
Sue Holcombe is a retired Advanced Nurse Practitioner but
continues to be National Nurse lead for Association of Breast Surgery. She also
leads on Whole Life Faith with CMF as well as being part of CMF's Pastoral
team.
Dr Laura Anderson works part time as GP in the Scottish
Borders and as a GP advisor for the Scottish Ambulance Service. She has been on
the SE Scotland CMF Catalyst Team for over two years, first as prayer catalyst,
and now as co-lead.
Relaxation options:
3. Walk
This will be for 45mins max. Get some fresh air and make
some new friends whilst exploring the green Staffordshire countryside. Bring
waterproof walking shoes, as it can be muddy!
4. Painting Stones
In 1 Samuel 7:12 it says that Samuel ‘...took a stone and
set it up...he named it Ebenezer, saying ‘Thus far the LORD has helped us’.
During the main sessions we will be building a tower of stones to honour how
God has helped us as individuals and as a fellowship over the last ten years.
In this session there will be an opportunity to express your creativity in
painting stones with acrylic paints that you can take away with you at the end.
Please bring an apron, or other clothes in which to paint. Some paints and
brushes will be provided, but feel free to bring your own materials too.
5. Board and card games
A wonderful way to relax and get to know one another. There will
a variety of games to choose from, but if you have a favourite, why not bring
it along and teach it to us?
We want to meet you in person to be encouraged and equipped in our faith in Jesus as Allied Health Professionals!
We will be alongside the Nurses and Midwives for the Thursday evening and the majority of Friday, but with a two-part session just for Christians in Allied Health (CiAH).
PT Lesley Dawson and Dr Andy Charley (experts from PRIME) will be taking us through the principles of ‘Whole Person Care’ in an interactive and informative way. Part A (11.00-12.30) will focus on teaching and Part B (14:00-15:00) will be workshop-based – it’s sure to be a blessing!
We are not just bodies, we know that, but how can we; professionally, biblically, lovingly, and respectfully acknowledge and support the spiritual needs of our patients and colleagues?
We are praying that those who attend will be built up in their faith and strengthened in their work for the glory of God! There is something brilliant about coming together in person and offering up this time set aside to see how God wants to use it. We can't wait!
Please specify your TOP THREE options when booking the workshop choices (you will only do one) where we will re-join the nurses and midwives programme at 15:30-16:30.
