What then does the Bible say about leadership? How does it relate to what we deal with every day as a nurse or midwife? How can we relate secular training to biblical leadership?
This course, developed from a programme created by Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI), seeks to equip and empower Christian nurses and midwives in biblical values to enable them to transform their teams, workplaces, organisations and communities.
The programme will explore the NCFI model of the leader as Servant, Shepherd, Steward and Scholar and how these relate to clinical leadership in terms of calling, competence and character.
The course will run over three Saturdays from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. It is recommended that you attend all three days, but if this is impossible you can book in to individual days, which will run as follows:
Day 1 – 23 September – Introductions to concepts of Biblical Leadership in Nursing:
The Calling of the Leader
Day 2 – 21 October – The Competencies of the Leader
Day 3 – 25 November – The Character of the Leader
Reflection on programme & next steps
Day two and three will also include time to discuss and review with others how they have used the skills and concepts from the previous sessions.
There will also be an ongoing social media community to keep participants in contact with one another and to share ideas and experiences, prayer needs and spiritual reflections.
Day structure:
